Is there anyway to change the DVD password on a playstation 2 without having the original password? At all????

The above answerers got it almost right. *Almost*.

It works like this: You insert a DVD that brings up the parental lock password screen. Then press "SELECT" on the controller and enter 7444.

Entering the number alone won't help. You need to press Select before.

The exact procedure is also in your PS2 instruction manual.|||yep. 7444 should do it, it did with mine.|||Enter 7444 as the password.

This will reset the parental lockout in the event that you forget the original (of course, if the kids know it, then there's no way to keep the parental controls set).

This is information in the PS-2 instruction manual.

This is an addition in response to the post below:

7444 can be entered not only when the password screen is summoned by a DVD that is locked out, but also in the parental settings itself in the setup menu of the PS-2 DVD player.

Again, you should refer to the PS-2 instruction manual for more details or the PlayStation website.
